Räpina park is located on a small peninsula surrounded by the river Võhandu. The park surrounds the castle of Sillapää, that was built in the middle of the 19th century. Räpina park and the Räpina Horticultural School park with different plant collections covers an area of about 14 hectares. Manor park is under nature and heritage conservation. It is rich in different plant species, with over 600 taxa of ornamental trees and bushes. The park main landscaping was finished in 1856 by Baron Peter von Sivers. He followed the principles of well-known Baltic German horticulturalist Walter Engelhardt.
