This garden is a great place to visit for Garden Lovers with colourful plantings and lovely views. Approximately 1000 taxa of perennials are represented here including a very large collection of irises. There is also a great variety of phloxes (ca 80 varieties) and daylilies (ca 160 varieties) . This ornamental gardenis providing colour from spring bulbs to late autumn herbaceous. The Arboretum contains different deciduous trees, shrubs and conifers. There is also a pond area in the garden which blend so well with the surrounding nature. In 2015 our home and garden won the President of Estonia’s award in 2015 for the beautiful home and garden decoration.

SULEV SAVISAAR´S RARE MINIATURE BULBS COLLECTION

Sulev Savisaar is Estonia famous bulb collector, having in his garden a unique range of miniature bulbs. His garden set in Raplamaa countryside features over 2000 rare hardy perennials, mainly bulbs. Densely planted collection grows on a 700 m2 area. This is biggest outdoor collection in Nordic and Baltic countries, including many rare snowdrop, crocus, Erythronium and Allium spieces and varieties. In June a great variety of peonies are blooming (around 100 spieces).

TARTU UNIVERSITY BOTANICAL GARDENS

The Tartu University botanical gardens was founded in 180. Nowadays, about 10 000 species of plants can be found in the collections, which originate from tundra to tropical rainforests. The botanical garden is has the most species in Estonia and offers a great opportunity to familiarize with them. The mission of the garden is to teach the visitors the diversity of the flora, saving usage of plantal resources and protection.
