SUUREMÕISA PARK AND CHERRY GARDEN

The surrounding area of the Suuremõisa manor features a English park and a secret  Cherry Garden  that was developed 140 years ago. Originally the garden was a fruit garden with cherry, plum and apple trees. In 1970 it was mostly destroyed. Since that the garden has gone through many changes. 1977  Hiiumaa Vocational School created here walled flower garden and eastside garden became fruit and berry garden. In 2006 a circular pond was created and colorful flowerbeds around it. There is also a herb garden, small peat garden and a rockery area. In the Spring there are lovely displays of bulbs.  Garden continues to be developed.
