LAINE LEPP´S GARDEN

Harjumaa

This small but mature garden in Tallinn has a great history. It was established in the 1960 by Estonia famous garden designer Laine Lepp. The size of the ornamental garden is 1600 m2 and it is divided into separate areas. There is a nice reflective pond, surrounded by moisture loving plants. Other features include rockery garden, mixed borders of perennials, ornamental shrubs and conifers and many dwarf yew hedges. Natural lime stone has been used for terraces and path adding extra value to this place.

KADRIORG PARK

Kadriorg Park is the most famous palatial park in Estonia, covering around 70 hectares. Its construction began in 1718. Park is divided into a range of areas both formal and informal. The most popular place for a stroll in the park is the Swan Pond with fountain and gazebo, surrounded by flower beds. There is a promenade leading to the Kadriorg Palace. The part of the garden that covers terrace behind the Kadriorg Palace has a regular style. This regular garden has fountains, hedges and flowerbeds, planned after the model of Versailles.The English style park has forest groves with meandering paths and mature trees. In 2011, Kadriorg Park received an addition in form of the Japanese garden designed by Japan's renowned landscape designer Masao Sone.

TALLINN BOTANIC GARDEN

The Tallinn Botanic Garden is located in the northeastern part of the city of Tallinn, 9 kilometres from the city center. The collections, as well as outdoor and greenhouse expositions, are the most unique ones in Estonia, featuring the highest number of species (over 8,000 taxa and varieties). The garden includes an arboretum, rosary (rose garden) and rock garden, high variety of pulbous plants and perennials. There is also Garden for the Senses (3,500 m²)where you can look, touch, smell and listen to the plants.

ELLAMAA ARBORETUM

Ellamaa Arboretum is located in Ellamaa on Tallinn-Haapsalu Road, approximately 50 km west of Tallinn. Hardiness zone 6. The first plants were planted in 1999 to decorate the garden (3 ha). Arboretum currently contains 982 shrubs and ornamental trees and 1798 conifers, many of the plants are still small. The main goal of the Arboretum is to test species and cultivars of conifers in our climate, especially dwarf cultivars, less rare ornamental trees and shrubs. In 2004 Rhododendrons and perennials collections were started.

ROOGOJA HORTICULTURE FARM

Roogoja Horticulture Farm is the most well-known and long lasting horticulture farm in the area.Clematis varieties bred at Roogoja Farm are grown in the gardens all over the world. The Clematis collection has around 350 different varieties with several replicates. The first grapevine was planted in Roogoja Farm in 1950. Today, there are over 200 varieties of grapevines in the collection.

SADEVÄLJA HORTICULTURE FARM

Sadevälja Horticulture Farm is located on the land of a 120-year old farm of the same name. This ornamental garden by Kuivajõe River was established 12 years ago by Jana Proos and her husband.When designing the garden, their purpose was to maintain the image of a traditional Estonian ornamental garden. Today, the garden collection consists of around 400 different conifers, broad-leaven trees and shrubs and perennials varieties.
